About Murray

Murray’s career spans over 40 years, from working for the largest U.S. public accounting firms to managing a locally-owned, Arizona firm. He is a certified public accountant and lawyer, holds an advanced law degree in tax, and specializes in individual, corporate, and partnership tax planning, including transactional analysis and personal financial planning. He began his career at Arthur Andersen and, while working full-time, pursued his Master of Laws from New York University School of Law. Prior to combining with Wallace, Plese + Dreher, he was managing partner of the Phoenix office of a national firm, and managing partner of Dennis, Schmich & Co., Ltd. Well-recognized in commercial real estate, hospitality, recreation, and entertainment, he helps family-owned and operated companies successfully manage and execute succession planning. Emphasizing personalized service, Murray encourages continuous communication and planning throughout the year to eliminate year-end surprises. Promoting long-term planning, he educates clients about gifting strategies, legacy planning, charitable gifting, family foundations, family limited partnerships, irrevocable and revocable trusts, family trusts, and generation-skipping transfers. Beyond tax planning and consulting, Murray’s sportsmanship is shown on the golf course. As an avid golfer, he has achieved six hole-in-ones.
